Organizing The Mind For Success

When one begins to suffer their success, it is time to relook at the fundamentals. Sadhguru explains that being successful by accident can only lead to anxiety. Only by organizing your mind in one direction can one earn success.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

Sadhguru looks at how most people are successful by accident, and are therefore suffering their success. He explains that unless we organize our mind, we cannot be truly successful and enjoy success.

Sadhguru: Your ability to do something in the world essentially depends on the extent to which you are capable of harnessing your body and mind towards your goal, and after that, harnessing the situation in which you exist. But the most fundamental things are that your body and mind function not only to the best of their ability, but the way you want them to. When I say “the way you want,” there are many ways to check it. Let’s try a simple experiment. For the next 10 seconds, do not think of monkeys. Give it a try. Close your eyes and do not think of a monkey for the next 10 seconds… Can you do it? Your mind is full of monkeys, isn't it? Your mind is not doing what you want it to do. If you say, “I don’t want monkeys,” it will think only of monkeys. Have you noticed this? This is not just your problem. The whole world is suffering this. When they are in the office they want to go home. When they are at home they are thinking of the office.
Some time ago, I spent half-a-day with one of the English Premier League soccer clubs. They had reasonably good talent, but had not been doing well for the past few years. I spent half-a-day with them, just watching how they were practicing and playing. They were good, they knew how to play football, that was not the issue. But they were nervous, kicking the ball around, and every time it did not go where they wanted, I would hear four-letter words flying all over the place. And the next day, they were playing another team full of well-known stars who could turn the game around single-handedly! I made them sit down and told them some simple things about themselves for about an hour-and-a-half. They had not beaten the other team in four-and-a-half years, but the next day they won the game 1-0.

Accidental Success

The problem is just this: the mind is going into everything that it should not, but not doing what it should be doing. What happens in your mind should be one hundred percent the way you want it, but within yourself, how many moments of unpleasantness do you go through in 24 hours’ time? Irritation, anger, agitation, tension, fear, anxiety – all different types of unpleasantness. If you feel unpleasant five times a day, one way or the other, the residue spreads right through the day. This is not because something is wrong with your work or with people around you. It is essentially because your mind is refusing to take instructions from you.
Your mind is not doing what you say; you do whatever your mind says. That means you are a terrible manager.
If you cannot even conduct your mind the way you want it, the question of life happening the way you want is remote. You can only be successful by accident, not by intent. When you are successful by accident, you live in fear. People have landed up in places just by accident, and they live in enormous anxiety all the time because they are successful by chance; they did not get there by their own dint. They somehow got there, so now they are fearful every day. But when you are successful by intent, you know you can do it. If the whole thing gets washed away tomorrow, you will rebuild it once again. When you do anything accidentally, invariably, you will suffer the process. If you know how to drive your car well, it can be a joy. But if you don't know how to drive and do it accidentally, it can be enormous suffering. Every process of life can become a huge suffering if you do it accidentally. People are successful by accident. That is why they are suffering their success. If you suffer your failure it is bad enough, but if you suffer your success, then your life is 100% tragedy.

Self-created Suffering

There is enormous suffering in so-called “successful” people. Why? Because they manage a big industry and huge corporations, but they do not know how to manage their own mind. That means their management is by accident, not by intent. Managing an industry or a corporation essentially means you have to manage ten thousand minds. If you do not know how to manage your own mind, how will you manage the outside situation?
If you are causing misery to yourself, obviously you do not know how to manage your mind. Nobody can cause suffering to you. People throw various kinds of situations at you, but it is always you who caused suffering to yourself. For example, if I call you an idiot, you would cause suffering to yourself. The word “idiot” does not cause suffering. If you did not know English and someone called you an idiot, you might think they were saying “good evening.” So, if you are causing suffering to yourself, the basic things within you are obviously out of control. They are not happening the way you wish them to happen. Any instrument in your life is useful to you only if it takes instructions from you and is managed by you. Please see, the state of your mind is such that it says its own things, it does not listen to you. Your mind is not doing what you say; you do whatever your mind says. That means you are a terrible manager. If you are like this, you will only manage external situations by accident.

An Organized Mind

In yoga, a well-established mind is referred to as a Kalpavriksha. If you bring your mind to a certain level of organization, it in turn organizes the other three dimensions of your system – your body, emotion, and energies.
If you organize your mind in one direction, and in turn organize the whole system in that direction, anything you wish will happen.
Once these four dimensions are organized in one direction and kept unwavering for a certain period, anything you wish will happen. You don’t even have to lift your little finger. Without having to do any activity, you can manifest what you want. The problem with your mind right now is that it changes its direction every moment. If you walk somewhere and keep changing your direction every two steps, the chances of reaching your destination are very remote unless it happens by accident. But if you organize your mind in one direction, and in turn organize the whole system in that direction, anything you wish will happen. Editor’s Note: Follow INSIGHT on Twitter and LinkedIn.

What Decides Our Success in Life?

For these things to happen, you need perception and intelligence. That is all you must do in your life – constantly look for ways to enhance your perception and intelligence. The rest will anyway happen. And this is the one thing that humanity is unfortunately not doing.

For example, 25 years ago, everyone wanted to become a doctor. If you wanted to study, the first choice was medicine. Let us say you became a doctor, but everyone started coming to yoga programs and stopped having to go to doctors. Business would go down. It would no longer be a good profession to go into. Anyway, very few people are becoming doctors because they want to become doctors. There are a few who really want to be doctors, and who understand the human system and serve people, but others are becoming doctors because they think it is lucrative. It is quite disturbing for me that someone’s sickness is a lucrative business, because you would not want everyone to become healthy.

No Recipe For Success

Do not try to put up a recipe for your success. Real success happens when you use yourself to your full potential. It does not matter whether you become a doctor, politician, a yogi or whatever; success means you are living your life to your full potential. If that has to happen, you need perception and an active intelligence. “How do I grow my intelligence?” Don’t worry about that. The important thing is to enhance your perception. If you are able to see life just the way it is, you have the necessary intelligence to conduct it well. If you are not able to see life the way it is, your intelligence will work against you. Intelligent people on this planet are generally the most miserable people. This is simply because they have an active intelligence but no perception of life.

Never think, “I want to be successful.” Just see how to make yourself into a full-fledged being, and it will find expression.

People today are trying to broaden their minds, which may make one socially successful, but not truly successful. If you want to be truly successful, you must be able to see everything just the way it is, without distortions. If you can see everything just the way it is, life becomes a play, a game. You can play it joyfully and you can play it well for sure. If you can play it well, people will say you are successful.

You should not be aspiring for success. It is a miserable way to structure your life. You will simply cause pain and suffering to yourself and everyone because your idea of success right now is that everyone should be below you, while you are on top.

This is not success; this is sickness. Never think, “I want to be successful.” Just see how to make yourself into a full-fledged being, and it will find expression. If it finds good expression, people around you will say, “He is a great success!” That’s fine. People should recognize that you are a success, but you should not be thinking about how to be successful. That is a very wrong way to approach life.

Living Life to the Fullest

Once you have come as a human being, the potential of what it means to be human – all the dimensions of who you are – must be experienced. Only then would I say you are successful. And the ability to explore that potential, the daring to explore that potential, will come to you when you come to a state within yourself where there is no fear of suffering, that no matter what the life situation is, your experience of life will not alter itself.

Right now, Isha is involved in two dozen social projects. Some of them are mega-size projects in Tamil Nadu and the rest of the world. But I am not even concerned about the success of my activity. If they happen well, they will be beneficial for many people. But even if everything fails, I will still be blissful. I will do my best, there is no question about that because I have nothing to lose and nothing to gain whichever way, but the success of the activity depends on a variety of situations, and on cooperation from millions of people. However, what happens to these projects or how successful they are in terms of the world’s eyes will not determine my experience of life.

10 Success Mantras To Start Your Day Powerfully

If you have always felt that success is elusive, perhaps it's time to try something new. Here are 10 success mantras that are useful tips in all that you do.

1. Forget Luck, Live by Intent

Sadhguru: A few things may happen by chance. But if you wait for the chance, good things will happen to you only when you are in your grave because things may take their time. Even quantum theory says that if you try, you can actually walk through a wall once in a "zillion" times because there is a pulsation of particles happening and you may walk through. It is just that before you reach that one zillionth time, you'll have a cracked skull. When you live by chance, you also live in fear and anxiety. When you live by intent and capability, it does not matter what is happening or not happening, at least you are in control of what is happening to you. It is a more stable life.

2. Stop Fixating on Failure

Sadhguru: For a committed man, there is no such thing as failure. If you fall down 100 times in the day, it is 100 lessons learnt. If you commit yourself like this to creating what you really care for, your mind gets organized. Once your mind gets organized, your emotions will get organized because the way you think is the way you feel. Once your thought and emotion are organized, your energies and your very body will get organized. Once all these four are organized in one direction, your ability to create and manifest what you want is phenomenal. You are the creator in many ways.

3. Work with Clarity

Sadhguru: What a human being needs is clarity, not confidence. If you want to walk through a crowd of people, if your vision is clear and you can see where everybody is, you can just walk through the whole crowd without touching anyone. If your vision is not clear but you have confidence, you will walk over everybody. Because there is no clarity, people think that confidence is a good substitute. It just cannot be. Let’s say you make all the major decisions in your life like this: get yourself a coin, flip it. If it’s heads, it’s one way, tails the other. It works 50% of the time. If you are right only 50% of the time, there are only two professions that you can keep – either a weather man or an astrologer. You cannot keep any other job on this planet.

4. Embrace the People and Things You Dislike

Sadhguru: To handle different kinds of situations in our lives, we need different kinds of identities. If you are fluid about it, if you can change from one to another gracefully, then you can play your role to the hilt and still have no problem with it. But for most people, their personality is like a rock. It sits on them all the time and makes them suffer anything that does not fit into its ambit.

If you have to break that, you have to do something in reverse. This is a simple thing you can do: team up with somebody that you do not like. Spend time with that person, very lovingly, joyfully. Learn to do things that you do not like, be with people that you do not like, and still live your life sensibly, lovingly and joyfully.

5. Drop Your Calculations

Sadhguru: There is no need to aspire to greatness. If you make the focus and ambit of your life well beyond the concerns of who you are, you will anyway be a great human being. If you look at certain people, greatness happened to them not because they were seeking to be great, but because their way of looking at life was way beyond “what about me?”

If you just drop this one calculation, “What about me?” from your head, and function to the best of your ability, in some way you will be great because you will naturally be looking at, “What can I do about all the life around me?” So, you will naturally enhance your capabilities because there is so much to do!

6. Yoga For Success

Sadhguru: Both the neurological and energy systems branch out in a big way between the shoulder blades and above. So, keeping the neck region in a good condition is very important. Within 3-4 minutes of doing these neck practices, you will distinctly see that you are much more alert. There is a higher level of neuronal regeneration, and memory and intellectual sharpness also improve.

What Decides Our Success? - Sadhguru

Sadhguru’s Top 10 Rules For Success

Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru, was born in 1957 in the city of Mysore (now Mysuru), India. When he was 12 years-old, he came in contact with a swami who taught him a set of simple yoga postures or asanas, which he practiced regularly. In 1973, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English literature.

Jaggi likes to travel in various places throughout the country in his motorcycle. To finance his travels, he started several businesses, such as a poultry farm, brickworks, and a construction business, which were all successful. In one of his travels in Chamundi Hill in 1982, he claimed to have a spiritual experience. He then left his business to a friend, pursued meditation and travel for a year to gain insight about his experience. When he came back, he decided to teach yoga, which led to the founding of the Isha Foundation.

The Top 10 Rules For Success

Sadhguru, through the Isha Foundation, designed and teach yoga classes. Moreover, the foundation works with other international bodies for the promotion economic and social programs. He has been invited to speak in some of the most prominent international forums, such as the World Economic Forum. He also has served as a delegate to the UN Millennium Peace Summit and World Peace Congress. This YouTube video shares some of his rules for success.

1. Enhance Your Perception and Intelligence

Sadhguru explained that labor alone is not enough. Trying to be capable of something is the wrong approach in pursuing success. It is more important to constantly look for ways to enhance one’s perception and intelligence. When perception and intelligence is enhanced, it paves the way for incisive, focused and calibrated effort that leads to right action, right timing and the right place.

2. Take Charge Of Your Life

He demonstrated that everything that a person experiences, he or she experiences it within themselves. Events may happen outside of a person, but the experience happens within the person. He therefore states the importance of taking charge of one’s life to determine how they experience life. Unless people themselves determine how they want to experience their own life, other people may consciously or unconsciously determine it for them.

3. Be Conscious Of Your Mortality

Sadhguru shared that many people do things that they wish they would not have done because they think they are immortal. By forgetting that they are mortal, they engage in unproductive activities. However, by reminding ourselves that what we have is a brief life, we will be more careful and more grateful every time we wake up. We will be more grateful every time we see people that we love still alive, because the fact is that not everyone who slept the previous night woke up again.

4. Take A Holiday From Seriousness

He explained that people become very serious when they start to believe that they are very important. But in reality, the world will go on fine even without us. This has always been the case. Some people may miss us, but after a few days, they will continue to go about their lives without us. Therefore, it is important to take short breaks during the day from seriousness, and be reminded of this reality.

5. Produce Nice Movies

Sadhguru explained that fear is happening because of our own excessive imagination. The mind is like a cinema that produces movies, and people have develop a habit of producing a lot of horror movies in their mind. Most of the things we fear do not happen, and it is impossible to overcome something that does not exist. Therefore, we must use our minds differently and create the habit to produce nice movies in our mind. Even if they do not happen, at least we have enjoyed them.

6. Don’t Identify Yourself With Anything

He explained that when people start to identify themselves with something, whether as a person, group, company, gender, race or religion, the natural reaction is for the intellect to protect that identity in order to survive. It is a kind of prejudice. Human beings have a desire for the boundless and limitless, but use physical, defined and limited methods to achieve it. By not identifying himself with anything, Sadhguru shared that life seem to explode within him.

7. Fix Yourself

Sadhguru stated that our generation is the most comfortable generation that has ever lived. Science and technology has fixed so many things, and yet people continue to complain. He explained that this is because people have forgotten to fix what is inside ourselves. People should start fixing what is within to achieve a blissful state. However, bliss is not the goal, but a necessary condition for humans to achieve their full potential.

8. Pay Attention To Yourself

People have focused too much on the external, not enough with what is within one’s self. He compared the human body as a very sophisticated computer. Unfortunately, people have not even bothered to find the keyboard, so to speak, to have a greater control of it. Most of us hope that nothing breaks down, and have settled to simply being peaceful. However, he believes that we should not settle, because peace is not the ultimate goal but just the fundamental requirement.

9. Do Not Set Incentives For Sickness

Sadhguru believes that a great percentage of sickness in the world is self-created. It is because people, even at the slightest change in weather, would go back to bed instead of going on to their commitments of the day. The habit has taught the body to become more sickly. So, he advises people to set the necessary conditions and incentives for health instead of sickness.

10. Have A Sense Of Humor

In a show, he told of a story that while telling a joke to an American audience, he referred to God as a Him. Immediately, some women in the audience stood up and asked him if he really believed that God is a man. He explained that he was only telling a joke. He also commented that in India, they do not have this kind of problem, because they have a man god, a woman god, a cow god, an elephant god, and all sorts of gods. He explained that it is because it is a wise culture that foresaw the possible problems of gender.

Conclusion

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev as a mystic has become very famous and influential because of his insights. His ideas and talks are well received in many prominent international forums. He has been interviewed by many media companies, and has also written several books including Inner Engineering, a best seller.

On success sadhguru

The Key To Unlocking Success

Sadhguru: According to the world, success means you are running a little faster than someone next to you. That is not my idea of success. For me, success is “Am I able to use myself fully? Am I able to explore the potential of who I am to its fullest possibility?” If that has to happen, you need perception and an active intelligence.

What Do You See?

It happened once, Sherlock Holmes and Watson went camping in the mountains. Night fell and they went to sleep. In the middle of the night, Sherlock Holmes nudged Watson and Watson opened his eyes. Sherlock Holmes asked him, “What do you see?”

Watson looked up and said, “I see clear sky and stars, lots of stars.”

Sherlock Holmes asked, “What does that mean to you?”

Watson answered, “That means another nice, sunny day tomorrow. What does it mean to you?”

Sherlock Holmes said, “It means to me that someone has stolen our tent.”

You can successfully walk through every aspect of your life only if you see life the way it is. Otherwise it will be a stumbling process. Success means you are walking faster than others. If you are walking faster than others and your perception is not good, obviously you will be more stressed and freaked than anyone else because you are bumping into everything.

If you want to do anything successfully, it is not your qualification that counts. It simply depends upon the clarity of your perception of the realities around you. If you see today very clearly, you may be selling a lottery ticket and making money. If you see tomorrow very clearly, you will be buying a plan to sell back tomorrow. If you see what is fifty years later very clearly, you would be doing something totally different.

The Wrong Thing At The Wrong Time

Those people who failed were also well-qualified, intelligent and capable. But they failed to perceive certain things at certain moments in their life. You bought the wrong piece of property at the wrong time. You got in the wrong business at the wrong time. You got the wrong guy to handle the wrong thing. That is all failure is, and that is all success is too.

People who have grown successful may not be extraordinarily brilliant in something, but they kept their clarity of perception clear. They just perceive what you are talking and right there, they can nail you down about what is there and what is not there.

So, do not seek success, just seek competence – how to enhance yourself to a higher level. If you are in a great level of competence, wherever you are put, you will anyway succeed. If you are enormously capable, if you grow yourself into a certain dimension of capability, success is not even a goal in your life. It is something that follows you wherever you go.

If a human being grows to a great potential and great capability, the whole world will seek him or her. Instead of you seeking the world, it is better that people come to you because you are of a certain potential and a possibility.

The Science of Being Successful - Sadhguru

A car honked impatiently from behind. We drove on. It was not far to home. I began to pull off my panties.

Now discussing:

Yes, yes, mine, because something told me that this romance would last a long time. When we arrived at the restaurant, sat down at a table, Sergei ordered red wine, I ordered myself. But let's not talk about it, I was not up to it then, I examined every detail of his lovely face, his broad shoulders, strong arms.

I understood. That I didnt want to sit in a restaurant, but I wanted to pounce on him like a wild woman, I want him to take me straight to the toilet, from this thought my girl was all on fire, which was immediately heated by abundant discharge, nonsense, but this is perhaps the only example where water heats up a fire.
