UPDATE: 1 killed, 2 injured in crash on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard

Update, 3 p.m.: The deceased victim’s name has been released. Jonathan Gatewood, 47, was killed in the crash, according to Clarksville Police.

Update, 9:30 a.m.: Wilma Rudolph Boulevard is back open to traffic.

Update, 8:05 a.m.: Wilma Rudolph Boulevard will be shut down until about 10 a.m. for the Fatality Crash investigation.

The incident involved a Grey Ford F-150 and a Black Kia. There is one fatality from one vehicle, and CPD will be withholding the victim’s name until it is confirmed the next of kin notifications are made. The occupants of the second vehicle were transported by EMS and are in stable condition, Beaubien said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – At least one person has been killed in a wreck this morning on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, and the northbound lanes of the highway are closed near Athletic Avenue.

At 6:30 a.m., Clarksville Police were working the crash involving two vehicles.

“This incident involves a head-on-collision and the status of the other injured drivers is unknown, but they are being treated by EMS,” said Scott Beaubien, CPD spokesman.

The northbound lanes are closed and traffic is being diverted. CPD is asking the public to find alternate routes.

Hopkinsville House Sustains Major Damage In DUI Driver Crash

A home in Holiday Park subdivision sustained major damage early Sunday morning when a driver, who was arrested for DUI, ran off the road and crashed into the home. Hopkinsville Police report the accident occurred shortly before 12:30 Sunday morning when a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Jaton Marie Spencer collided with a parked vehicle on Holiday Park Drive. Spencer’s vehicle then ran off the road and hit the home at 3722 Bahama Drive. The vehicle went through the front of the home, which resulted in major damage.

I-24 in Clarksville open after 15 vehicles involved in three crashes that shut down part of the highway

Traffic on the highway moves slowly down the road while cars enter the highway at a trickle with the ramp from Rossview Road ramp at Exit 8 on I-24 South in Clarksville, Tenn., on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.

A portion of Interstate 24 east in Clarksville was shut down due to multiple crashes along the eastbound lanes near Rossview Road.

The wreck was reported at 2:40 p.m. near mile marker 8, the Tennessee Department of Transportation reported.

Eastbound lanes were shut down and traffic was backed up as far as the Tennessee-Kentucky border, TDOT reported.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Charlie Caplinger said troopers helped with three separate crashes, involving up to 15 vehicles.

"There is only one crash reporting minor injuries," Caplinger said.

The highway reopened around 3:45 p.m. Friday.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Trenton Road Wednesday evening.

A black Lexus going south went off the roadway, striking a concrete culvert and then coming to a rest against a house at 327 Barkwood Drive, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien.

The driver’s name has not yet been released.
