Description

The Garmin GTN 650Xi / 750Xi Trainer simulates the system user interface and provides the opportunity to explore the features, options, and fundamental operational aspects of the avionics. When used in combination with the GTN Xi Series Pilot’s Guide, the trainer can be an effective way to improve avionics familiarity and proficiency at a time and location convenient to the user. The Trainer is also a great way to prepare for a flight because a user can load the anticipated flight plan and “chair fly” the avionics portion of the flight before entering the aircraft.

The GTN 650Xi / 750Xi Trainer includes:
• Access to system menus, maps, flight planning, and more
• Garmin FliteCharts to view published approach charts
• High resolution worldwide terrain maps, aviation databases, and obstacle databases including powerline alerting
• Simulated interfaces and data including:
-- ADS-B and TCAS Traffic with TargetTrend™ Relative Motion
-- FIS-B & SiriusXM Weather, Stormscope Lightning Detection, and Garmin GWX 70 Weather Radar
-- Audio Panel and Transponder Simulation

* This app contains simulated data and does not receive data from or interact with real Garmin avionics. This app should not be used for actual navigation purposes.

Please note, this trainer is not a full simulator and does not have interfaces to other aircraft systems. As a result, some features have limited or no functionality and the Trainer doesn’t fully replicate the system operation.

Version 20.20.1

Updated to align with 20.21 airborne software.
Addressed issues that caused DALT/TAS/Winds menu and NAV/COM XFER to crash in some circumstances.
Includes new Smart Glide demo.

GTN 750 /750xi limited simulation

The simulator works very well when it comes to showing how the buttons and switches work, however, I do think having a generic autopilot, such as is utilized in your GTX 430/530 would definitely assist and enhance the training capabilities of the GTN 750xi.

Ratings and Reviews

Excellent for RNAV I can’t fly ILS

I can make the simulator fly RNAV all day but when I try to fly an ILS even after I tunes the correct frequency in the navigation side and have it fly on auto pilot it will not descend. VLOC is being displayed and I’ve loaded and activated the approach It will not to descend on auto pilot it will if you change the altitude while flying in manual mode but this doesn’t make any sense because you should be able to fly in auto pilot and change your altitude and have it follow. Overall a great app I just wish it would fly the ILS and hopefully I’m not doing something wrong.

Excellent except for two BIG problems

Thank you Garmin for providing this ‘free’ trainer (although it’s not really free since we pay through the nose for your hardware and databases (even though those are provided by the government)). This is excellent for training, although using the simulator is almost useless if you want to practice on actual routes you might use or local area stuff, because you can’t change where the simulator starts. It always starts somewhere in Kansas, I assume where the Garmin offices are. The only way to get the simulator anywhere is to ‘fly’ it there, in real time (at up to 999 knots, and that still takes a while). That leads to the second problem: if you leave the simulator to do something else, it doesn’t keep running in the background. It closes down and starts up again when you come back. That wouldn’t be so bad if you could actually start it on the map where you want. How hard is that to add a start-up field that says “Starting Location”? I’ll answer - it’s NOT.
It also seems to have some other obscure problems, like “Graphically Edit Flight Plan Mode” which does not seem to operate correctly according to the manual. I have to get back in my airplane and see how the real thing works though to be sure now. But that’s a problem - if you are providing a product that is supposed to TRAIN users on the real thing, you had better make sure you got everything right to avoid negative training!

X-Plane Integration NEEDED!

As an emulation of a GTN navigator, this app is great. But as an actual training tool, it is extremely limited because the flight simulation is incomplete to the point of being basically useless. What this app needs is an interface to a flight simulator like X-Plane so that you can fly a simulated aircraft and learn how to use the GTN at the same time.

What’s especially frustrating about this missing feature is that Garmin definitely knows how to do this. The Garmin Pilot app has this exact mode and it is an indispensable tool for learning how the app responds when you’re in a real cockpit. It simply and easily interfaces over wifi with X-Plane and receives position updates from X-Plane. The same implementation here would improve this app dramatically.

If this is an issue about pricing, I’m sure most pilots would be glad to pay for an in-app purchase to add this capability. I certainly would be.

Come on, Garmin. You’ve got the know-how and you clearly see the benefit of using flight simulators with your apps to improve the training experience. I’m sure you’ll even sell a few more GTN units if pilots have the ability to try them out on their home simulators first.

Garmin GTN Trainer for Pc

Check compatible PC Apps or Alternatives

Or follow the guide below to use on PC:

If you want to install and use the Garmin GTN Trainer app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App >> . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >>

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Garmin GTN Trainer in the search bar and press Search. Click on Garmin GTN Trainerapplication icon. A window of Garmin GTN Trainer on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Garmin GTN Trainer for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Problems with iOS11

    By YosemiteOrBust (Pcmac user)

Crashes when opening app. Will start after several attempts. Hope they update to current features.

  • Good for what it's intended for.

    By Rotorhead2 (Pcmac user)

I like this app, as it allows me to explore all the different buttons and sub menus of my GTN 650, from the comfort of my easy chair. I am particularly glad this new version lets you choose a GTN 650 interface, whereas the old version you were stuck with just the 750.

  • New update is nice

    By Db2wings (Pcmac user)

I'm hoping Garmin is working on an update that will allow two iPads connected somehow over or Bluetooth...so we can run GTN trainer on one iPad and TXi trainer on the other and have them work together like in the airplane. Now that would be awesome training!

At the same time, her dress was lifted almost to the waist and the edges of her stockings and white panties became visible to us. Then Igor and Slavik came up and helped to remove her shoes. I could not resist and touched her knee. At the same time she bent her leg, slightly raised it to the top and lowered the mute to the side.

I touched my lips to her bare leg, just above the stockings.
